The Angels could waste the opportunity of a lifetime
Beyond the Boxscore | 4 hrs ago.
Not many teams have ever had two legitimate MVP candidates in the same season, as the Angels do in Trout and Simmons. And not many of those teams barely scraped over .500.

I wrote an article on Saturday that was my best attempt to capture the various storylines of this year’s AL MVP race. It wasn’t easy, mostly because there are a ton of legitimate candidates. I focused on who seem to me to be the top four: Aaron Judge, Jose Altuve, Mike Trout, and Chris Sale. But I got a good chunk of responses from folks who felt someone was conspicuously absent: Andrelton Simmons
Radio host unleashes epic rant on Yankees fan frustrated with Aaron Judge
Big League Stew | 22 hrs ago.
If you’re a sport radio host in New York, chances are you’ve heard it all. But that doesn’t stop certain callers and certain opinions from getting really old, really fast.

Case in point, YES Network host Don La Greca had officially heard all he wanted to hear from Steve from Brooklyn during Thursday’s broadcast alongside Yankees television voice Michael Kay, so he unleashed an epic rant that he hoped would set the caller straight.

It stemmed from Steve suggesting that Aaron Judge, the American League home run leader with 37, should have been pinch hit for during Wednesday’s win against the Mets
Aaron Judge's second-half fantasy slide likely to continue
Roto Arcade | 1 day ago.
For a while it seemed Aaron Judge was going to defy history and post a winning batting average despite a strikeout rate horrendously high even in our modern-day, whiff-happy context.

Judge’s average was up to .347 on July 12. Since then, entering play on Thursday, it sunk to .291. In that period, he’s hit just .230 while striking out 87 times in 196 at bats (a strikeout every 2.25 at bats). That rate was a K every 2.96 ABs previously.

This raises two questions we should know in fantasy since strikeout rates for hitters stabilize early in seasons — what is the expected average for various levels of Ks and what kind of trade-off can we expect in increased homers
